Things to Consider While Using Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker

The Indus Valley has multiple choices in stainless steel pressure cookers which are totally toxin-free, food-safe and without chemical coating. They are Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Outer Lid Pressure Cooker and Premium Stainless Steel Inner Lid Pressure Cooker with Triply Sandwich Bottom. Made of 304 food grade stainless steel, both the pressure cookers are very easy to use and perfect for daily cooking.

Most importantly they are way better than aluminium cookers and faster than normal cooking methods. Unlike aluminium cookers, the stainless steel pressure cooker does not leach or react with food.

The indus valley cooker supports even heat distribution and enables fast cooking. These factors prevent loss of vitamins and minerals in steam along with natural colours and flavours of food.

Things to Remember When Using Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker

DOs

1.Place the weight or pressure cooker whistle on the vent tube only after steam starts coming out.

2.It is better to add a spoon of oil when cooking beans, lentils and so on. Wait for a few minutes before closing the pressure cooker lid. This is to avoid frothing.

3.After considerable usage, if the steam escapes around the cooker lid, fitting a new gasket is advisable. Or else, the cooker will take a longer time to build pressure. It will also waste gas/fuel.

4.Before opening the steel cooker, always make sure that there is no pressure in it. Also, remove the pressure cooker whistle first before taking off the lid.

5.Always make sure your cooker’s vent pipe is free from any particles.

    DON’Ts

1.Do not place an empty pressure cooker on the flame or any heat sources. Make sure to put sufficient water in the cooker.

2.Do not fill the pressure cooker over two-thirds full. When preparing food ingredients that generally expand during cooking, like rice, dal or vegetables, it is advisable to not fill the cooker over half full. Overfilling increases the risk of clogging the cooker’s vent tube and in turn, developing excess pressure.

3.Do not open the stainless steel cooker even if there is little pressure inside. This may lead to scalding injury. It is recommended to wait until the pressure in the cooker is completely reduced before opening.

4.Never store the pressure cooker closed. Since there won't be air circulation inside, it will cause mustiness.

5.Never leave the pressure cooker whistle on the lid, when not in use.
